Scream Queen 2017
It was mid-November, I found myself in “Wonderland Land of the America’s” indoor mall.
There were many venders to visit. Selling a wide variety of goods from comic books, trinkets and bats under glass, quite interesting to look at. It’s a bargain hunter’s delight.
One thing I must point out. I have been to many conventions and comic cons. Some of the same kinds of things I looked at were cheaper here. The price to attend was Zero. That’s the best deal of all! Wonderland mall have a wide range of events going on all year long just keep an eye out for them. https:// www.facebook.com/wonderlandoftheamericas
The Bedouin Belly Dancer was on hand entertaining a cheering small audience . Many of the dancers did several different styles of dances. All preformed with grace and dignity. If you would like to give it a try belly dancing; check out www.asheba.com

Alamo City Comic Con Experience 2017
This past weekend I attended San Antonio’s fifth installment of our local pop culture festival known as the Alamo City Comic Con (May 26th – 28th at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center). Convention goers’ have a chance to cut loose and let their inner geek out. This event allows the attendees the opportunity to dress up in costume and in makeup as their favorite superheroes or villains. It’s very common to see a whole family; mom, dad, and the kiddies dressed as their favorite hero’s.
At the Historical Cadillac bar Just behind the court house “The Reunion” played to a small yet warm audience.
Newly form, band came together by a rather an unusual way.
I ask Steven Martinez (lead rhythm guitar) how the band came about. Steve said simply “We had a family reunion and we needed music. I, and Cousin James Martinez and others decided to play and entertain our families.
We had such a good time playing. We did not want to stop. We were encouraged to “Keep on going”

Alamo City Comic Con Experience 2015
I have for a full year been greatly anticipating the third installment of the Alamo City Comic Con. I’ve missed the excitement, and festival like atmosphere of this event. I was very pleased with the event as a whole, and everyone who attended I’m sure were not disappointed.
SKYROCKET!! The Band
A rocking fun loving -band. On a typical hot sticky night at SAM’S BURGER JOINT, It’s Skyrocket the band.
I had a super time listening to some awesome classic rock songs executed to perfection.
With a common love of the music of the seventy’s. Sky rocket dose a it right. The place was packed and the music as they would say back in the day was RIGHT ON. .
Diana Ross at the Majestic
Last Monday at the San Antonio Majestic Theater Ms. Diana Ross gave a wonderful performance to a packed house. Fans including myself were on their feet most of the night cheering Ms. Ross .
For many, it was a walk down memory lane evoking feelings long forgotten.
Having a seating capacity of 2,311 , it still felt very intimate during the hour and a half show.
With a very large library of songs. It is most difficult to pick the favorite sung that evening.
A Partial list of songs for the evening were :
The Pastie Pops
Pictures and story, joseph Martinez.
Last Saturday night I drop by “Up Town Studio” at 700 Fredericksburg Rd. to see local show “The Pastie Pops”. All involved in the show was just wonderful. The head liner was Missy Lisa, and featuring “Elle Du Jour”. There was a total of eight performers doing their own unique thing. Some, combining song with their acts Poetry and light hearted comedy
Creativity and Graceful moves went hand and hand all night long.
Adrian & the Sickness, Revisited
Adrian Conner and her band Adrian & the Sickness, were traveling into San Antonio to play at the “Tonic Bar” when she got tangle up in a small fender -bender. Maybe a little bum out but, it sure didn’t show in the music she played that evening.
Adrian & the Sickness “The Austin-based power trio Rocked all night long..
Last I saw Adrian it was about four years back. I thought to myself. “Does she still have it? “Absolutely …. Hell, Yaa. No wimpy music here. Stronger, Louder and still hits that music nerve that hard rockers need. .
