Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Volunteers Raise $17,000

Story and Photos by Ramón Hernández

Ramiro Cavazos and Aaron J. Seaman were two happy campers at the end of the day last Sunday.

Why? Because as Seaman said with apparent great enthusiasm, "We had a terrific showing and recruited 50 new members and raised over $17,000 in membership revenue."

Cavazos is the president and Seaman is the Chief Operating Officer of San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The event was the chamber's 2009 Membership Campaign.

Seaman added it was all due "thanks to our fantastic volunteers and staff for their tremendous support." The exact number of volunteers that showed up to man the telephone lines at the Caliente Harley Davidson dealer on Loop 410 is not known.

Sandy Cantú, sitting behind Cavazos in the photo is the director of membership services. Logging in volunteers as they arrived were Juan D. Palomo, Jennifer Mejia, Sylvia Villarreal and Roxanne García. The first group of volunteers included Adriana García, Alejando Calderon, Louie Alvarado, Daniel Cardona, Alma Sáenz and Danny Sáenz.

If anyone or their company is not currently a member of the Hispanic Chamber, they would still love to hear from you and the number to call is (210) 630-3899.
